The Klaxons take everything that was good from the 90’s dance scene (excluding I’m too sexy for my shirt, of course) and splices it with hipster sensibility and indie-brit rock. Picking up where Test Icicles left off, the Klaxons are the new papas of the musical genre that has been dubbed “new rave.” This label is fairly appropriate, because, at any of their shows, I would no doubt love to be “that glow-stick kid” – the one that you look at and think, “I wish I could do that . . . if it weren’t so stupid!” Their music is intense in a “I’m going to stab you with my glow-stick” kind of way, with their often falsetto vocals contrasting nicely. Go buy some neon colored clothes. Release the inner hipster. Listen to The Klaxons.
